Play Along at Home
“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” is a great story for children of all ages. We are presenting each chapter so closely to Carroll’s original, you’ll be able to read along at home. Below are listed resources to utilize to build this live performance into an educational opportunity.
Read-Along.
One great way to introduce your student to the world of Wonderland is to have them read-along with us as we perform each chapter. Reading along with a performed book is a great way to help young readers engage with new words, increase their vocabulary, and develop an appreciation of the great stories to be found in books. You can order a copy of the book through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, or find a free digital copy gutenberg.org.
Playtime Activities.
Take the book off the page and into the playroom with activities and games based on the book. Party Delights has a blog featuring several fun and creative ways for your child to bring the story out of the screen and into the playroom.
Study Guides and Lesson Plans.
Websites like Scholastic.com and Sparknotes.com have great resources to help parents guide their young readers through the story.
WorkSheets.
Each worksheet has three levels of questions and a creative project geared to help young artists become a part of the theatre making process. Print out the worksheet and chose the questions and projects that are right for your student.
