Romeo and Juliet

July 15-30 of 2016 Rochester, NY

WallByrd is thrilled to be joining forces with the Rochester Community Players for their 2016 Summer Highland Bowl performance of Romeo and Juliet- breathing a new life into one of Shakespeare's most memorable plays, and the world's most immortal love stories.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION-

Iconic the world over, this year we look to bring Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to Rochester audiences with a visual twist befitting the scale of our tale, and our venue.  Drawing heavily from some of the greatest visual storytellers of our time, we took inspiration from the works of Yoshitaka Amano, Naoko Takeuchi, and Hayao Miyazaki to create a world as rich and textured as the poet's pen.  Mixing an illustrative, video-game aesthetic with a punk-pop sound, this production will be an energetic and vibrant rendition of this classic story.

Romeo and Juliet @ the Highland Bowl was named "Best Local Theater Production of 2016 (at a Community Space)" in the Best of Rochester Award.

I’ve seen Shakespeare performed in the Stratfords of England and Ontario, and this production outshined most.
